Academy 学者
好奇心, 纪律, 焦点, determination: these qualities are essential to artists, and are honed not only in the studio but also in the classroom. 在学院, you’ll find AP and Honors courses, dedicated teachers, and high academic standards engaging the distinctly creative minds of our students. The Academy’s academic program is built upon core studies in Humanities (英语, 社会研究, and 世界语言) 数学, 和科学. See below for information on graduation requirements, standardized testing scores, and academic faculty.
Students in the 英语 Department will develop into sensitive and critical readers of fiction, 非小说类, 诗歌, and drama through reading, 讨论, 和写作.
数学, 科学, and Technology Department is designed to include themes rooted in history, systems in equilibrium, patterns in nature, energy conversion, and resource conservation, and computational reasoning.
An in-depth exploration of history, 心理学, 哲学, and the likes; the ability to understand the human experience outside of one’s own individual social and cultural context allows students to develop a conscience more suited to the multicultural world in which they live.
The foundational 哲学 of the World Language courses is that language, 讨论, 反射, and imagination lead to the development of skills which help students understand and interpret the human experience.
Over half of Academy students enroll in one (or more) honors level or AP courses.
Academic and 艺术 Electives are offered to students of all arts departments. They provide a chance to study a different 纪律 or view a specific art through an academic lens. Students are encouraged to explore these 纪律s outside of their chosen department.
